Friday 1st January - Turkey Buster – ‘A Devil of a Walk ‘
Join the National Trust for Jersey on the annual New Year’s Day circular fitness trail.  The route is between the Devil’s Hole and the Sorel headland with all things naturally coastal in between.  2016 will be an extra special year for The National Trust for Jersey as it celebrates its 80th Anniversary.  What better excuse can there be in raising a glass to this major milestone and to the New Year than by joining naturalist Mike Stentiford and the team on this two-hour coastal jolly.  This two hour walk starts from La Mare Wine Estate.

Sunday 31st January - Balls of Steel Adventure Racing Festival
The Balls of Steel event is a day of adventure racing where ALL proceeds are donated to Charity. This 6 race event headlined by the Jersey Tough Guy 10K running race is in its 7th year and runners are faced with mud, fire, water and electricity as well as obstacle course challenges in the final arena at the Jersey Accommodation and Activity Centre. This year will see the introduction of short course events, some serious and some just for fun!

Friday 12th – Sunday 14th February - Moscow State Circus
An awe inspiring new show from the 'Worlds, most famous circus'. A place where dreams become reality. The Moscow State Circus returns to Jersey with its latest and greatest production to date. Monday 28th March - Jersey Horse Racing
Come and watch the Easter Monday season opener at the Les Landes. Set in the picturesque coastal area of Grosnez in the north-west corner of the island you can enjoy the most beautiful uninterrupted views over the historic ruins of Grosnez Castle and the neighbouring islands of Guernsey, Sark and Herm.  The racecourse hosts nine race meetings during the summer.

Friday 25 March - Tues 10 May - Channel Islands Heritage Festival
The Channel Islands Heritage Festival celebrates a group of small islands with a big history, the 2016 festival will honour the Islands’ timeless relationship with their coastline and the sea. Our maritime heritage spans centuries; from Ice Age cave dwellers to Roman wrecks and famous seafarers, tales of privateering and shipbuilding to great shipwrecks and the part the sea played in past conflicts. Explore museums, take guided walks, cycle rides, kayak adventures and vintage bus tours plus enjoy the many events and activities that will take place at our heritage sites around the Islands, throughout the 47 day festival. 2016 marks the 150th anniversary of Victor Hugo’s novel, The Toilers of the Sea, and events will mark this key anniversary. Wednesday 4th – 15th May - Liberation International Music Festival
The 8th Liberation International Music Festival runs from 4th – 15th May 2016 and explores artistic freedom and the power of music to liberate the spirit in venues across the island.  Enjoy stirring performances from the Band of HM The Royal Marines and a Ballet Gala featuring principals from the Royal Ballet including Lauren Cuthbertson. Monday 9th May - Liberation Day
On Liberation Day dignitaries take part in a Service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration.  There will be a re-enactment of the act of liberation, the arrival of the Liberating Forces and the successive flying of flags, a uniformed march-past, drive-past by old civilian and military motor vehicles.

Saturday 21st – Saturday 28th May - World League Five cricket tournament 
Jersey has been chosen to host the 2016 World League Five cricket tournament. The island was selected ahead of Nigeria to stage the International Cricket Council 50-over event, which will also feature Tanzania and Oman. With free admission to all matches this is a great chance to watch top level cricket as well as some of the sports future stars.

Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th June - Jersey International Motoring Festival
Steep winding hills and straights beside the long beaches provide the perfect combination for a motoring festival, and Jersey has it all. The festival is the largest annual motoring event in the Channel Islands, with competitive sprint and hill climbs for classic & vintage cars and motorcycles, a touring event for visitors and locals alike visiting various places of interest and stopping for refreshments around the island, a large static motor show, motor and ancillary trade stands and exhibits from Jersey motoring clubs.

Saturday 18th June - Collas Crill Around the Island Walk
The Collas Crill Around the Island Walk takes place on Saturday, 18th June, 2016 commencing at 3 am at the Elizabeth Terminal.  The Main Walk is 48.1 miles around the coast with 13 checkpoints and a breakfast stop at St Catherine’s Breakwater. In addition to the Main Walk there is a Relay enabling a team of up to 4 people, to complete the whole walk between them also starting at 3 am. Early registration is advised to enable T-shirts and registration information to be posted.

Saturday 25th June - Saturday 2nd July - Dance World Cup
The Dance World Cup will see over 18,000 competitors from 38 countries competing at their country qualifiers. This year Jersey will be hosting the World Finals. This is the greatest all-genre dance competition on the planet for children and young adults around the world. Jersey will be expecting around 4,000 competitors.

Thursday 7th – Sunday 10th July - 2016 European Touch Rugby Championships
The 2016 European Touch Championships will be hosted by Jersey, over the period 7th - 10th July 2016. Touch started in Australia in the early 1960s as a social game and a training and warm-up technique for rugby league. The first official Touch Tournament was held in Sydney in 1968 and then spread to New Zealand. From there the game has expanded rapidly, especially in the South Pacific and now all around the world and especially in Europe. The Federation of International Touch -F.I.T., founded in 1985, includes more than 50 members. The 2016 event in Jersey will be held at Les Quennevais Sports Complex.

Sunday 10th July - Jersey Triathlon
The Jersey Triathlon is the most Southerly triathlon of the British Isles and is one of the most exciting, challenging and picturesque courses in Britain. In 2013 the event had a makeover and relocated the core race areas to the waterfront in St Helier, as it commenced its preparations for the hosting the Jersey 2015 Island Games triathlon event. It also added a shorter Super Sprint race to the day as well as team relay option on the Olympic course. In 2016 we expect that the Jersey Triathlon will continue to follow this course, meaning that it will be identical to the course that was used for the Island Games Event in June 2015.

Monday 11th July - Tour des Ports de la Manche     
Tour des Ports de la Manche lasts one week and hosts 700 sailors. It is open to everyone from the leisure yachtsman to the experienced sailor. Boats range from 7 meters to 14 meters and are listed in 5 different categories. It is a sailing event which boasts a festive and friendly reputation!

Friday 15th July - Legend in the Park
Big Gig are repeating last year's successful 'Legend in the Park' on Friday 15th July. In previous years performers such as Tom Jones and Spandau Ballet have entertained huge crowds in Howard Davis Park. 2016 will be another year to remember. Headliners and support acts to be confirmed soon.

Saturday 16th July - Jersey Beach Rugby Tournament
Beach rugby is a fast, enthralling version of the 15-aside game. Open to Men’s & Ladies Teams, it is very fast, full contact Rugby Union played with teams of a maximum of 10 players. The 2016 Jersey Beach Rugby Tournament will be held on 16th July at St Brelade's Bay. Games are 5 minutes each way. There's no kicking, scrums or line outs and it's played on a pitch that's a third of the normal size.

Saturday 6th August - Round the Rock – 48 Mile Ultramarathon
The Channel Island's original Ultra Marathon will be taking place at 6am on 6th August 2016. At approximately 48 miles (77Km) and 1000 metres of ascent this race will circle around the island following the stunning granite cliffs of the North Coast to the golden sands of St. Ouen's Bay and the South Coast. In 2015 a £2000 prize was offered for anyone who could run 48 miles in under 6 hours.

Offshore powerboat racing will return to Jersey this summer – over two decades since the last visit. The glamour of the fast craft racing will return to St Aubin’s Bay in August when racers from across Europe are expected to ride the waves in front of an enthusiastic audience.

Monday 29th August - The Gardens of Samares Manor Country Fair
The Botanic Gardens make an ideal setting for Jersey’s celebration of harvest time - Samarès Manor’s Country  Fair. The gardens, which date from the 1920s, contain a rich diversity of planting and have been restored and developed over the last thirty years. They include a walled herb garden designed by John Brookes, a Japanese garden, water gardens exotic planting, together with recently designed areas which demonstrate seasonality, the use of colour in gardening and different gardening styles.

Sunday 2 October 2016 - Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon
The Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon is an established niche marathon.  The race, which is split into three categories, Marathon, Relay Race and 3K Fun Run, attracted over 2,500 entrants in 2015 with over 60% of marathon runners coming from off the Island. With a professional yet friendly atmosphere the event welcomes a variety of runner types, elite athletes compete for prize money and times, while corporate teams vie for the prestige of winning the trophy and many others compete to do something truly amazing for the benefit of others.

Friday 14th   - Saturday 15th October - Paperclix Jersey Rally
This year’s Jersey Rally is tipped to be the best yet. Watch as WRC to Club level rally cars race their way through the Islands lanes. As the number of entries has grown, so has the scale of the event:  170 drivers and navigators, at least the same number of support crew, around 300 marshals, 100 or so officials and scores of spectators. High adrenaline action for all the family.

27th  -  29th October - Black Butter Making
Join the National Trust for Jersey as they make this delicious local delicacy from the Island's apple harvest. Peel the apples, stir the pot and learn about the history and tradition of Black Butter making in Jersey and how it can be used with different foods today. The 2016 Fête de Noué promises to be the most exciting yet with another new event from Secrets Beneath, following their Enchanted Narnia experience in 2015. Ice Skate Jersey will be returning as well as various Fête de Noué events.  Come and experience our Christmas markets featuring Genuine Jersey and Norman French producers selling their wares, as well as a special Simply Christmas event at the beautiful Greve de Lecq Barracks.  There will be Christmas concerts at various venues across the Island, and a Christmas Cabaret and Panto of course.  Crafty Christmas sessions to entertain the kids along with a fantastic Battle of flowers Christmas Parade through St Helier.
